AUSTIN – Texans for Greg Abbott today announced a robust fundraising report, raising nearly $19 million in the latest reporting period ending December 31, 2021. The donations came from across Texas.
“These generous contributions from people all across Texas show just how excited Texans are for this campaign,” said Governor Abbott. The nearly 159,000 total contributions show a broad base of support from every demographic. With an average contribution of just over $119, this report demonstrates strong support from small-dollar donors.
The $18.9 million included donations from almost 44,000 first time contributors. “I’m honored to have the support of so many Texans as we seek to secure the future of this great state. It’s inspiring to see people from all walks of life giving whatever they can spare to fuel this pivotal campaign,” said Governor Abbott.
Last year, Texans for Greg Abbott raised a total of $37.6 million during the seven months that fundraising was allowed. The total cash on hand at the end of 2021 was more than $65 million.
“These donations will help us secure the future of Texas and keep us on a path towards an even brighter future. I look forward to this year’s election and thank everyone who is supporting our campaign,” said Governor Abbott.
