AUSTIN – Texans for Greg Abbott today announced a substantial fundraising report, bringing in more than $1.4 million in the latest reporting period – the first 20 days of 2022.

“Since the Governor’s formal kickoff on January 8th, the support we’ve seen both at events and in our fundraising has been tremendous,” said Kim Snyder, Texans for Greg Abbott Campaign Manager. The more than 19,300 contributions in just 20 days shows that Governor Abbott’s supporters remain energized about this race. With an average contribution of $73, this report illustrates solid support from small-dollar donors.

The $1.4 million included donations from almost 4,000 first time contributors. “I’m proud of the work our team has done and salute the multitude of Texans that have joined Governor Abbott’s campaign to secure the future of Texas,” said Snyder.

The total cash on hand at the end of January 20th, was more than $62.6 million.

Since before he was a candidate for Governor, Greg Abbott has gone above and beyond what the law requires to itemize all of his contributions. Credibility-challenged Beto O’Rourke still has yet to fix all the issues from his last ethics report.
