A special agent with the Texas Department of Public Safety rescued an elderly gentleman from his flooded home. The agent then returned to the house after the rescue to retrieve a United States flag that had belonged to the man’s late brother, a pilot who had been killed in action in World War II. Texas DPS posted a photo on Twitter of the agent and the rescued man posing with the flag.

When a Houston police officer was finally able to return home after working for five days straight during and in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, his daughter and two dogs were there to greet him. The Houston Police Department tweeted a photo of the moment, showing the officer joyfully hugging his daughter and dogs.
