AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott yesterday sparked Republican enthusiasm for Don McLaughlin’s campaign for House District 80 during a Get Out The Vote campaign event in Poteet.
“Our number one job is to keep Texas, Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “In Texas, the sun is shining on us because we have the best economy in the United States of America. One reason why the economy is stronger in Texas than in other states, is because we believe in our oil and gas industry, protecting your safety, and returning your money to you with a property tax cut. You have got to send Don McLaughlin to Austin to work with me to protect your values. This is going to be a close race, every vote is going to count.”
During his remarks, Governor Abbott highlighted Don McLaughlin’s unwavering loyalty to his community and his commitment to South Texas values. The Governor also praised McLaughlin’s dedication to help bolster Texas’ border security measures, crack down on dangerous criminals like Tren de Aragua gang members, and protect the men and women in the state’s robust oil and gas industry during the next legislative session. Additionally, Governor Abbott urged the packed Republican crowd to talk with their friends, neighbors, and coworkers to go vote for Don McLaughlin for House District 80.
