AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today announced endorsements for six strong conservatives in the Texas Senate in each of their campaigns ahead of the 2024 primaries, and thanked those State Senators not on the ballot in 2024 for their support of key conservative legislation.

“The Texas Senate has delivered many conservatives wins this year, and I am proud to endorse the strong conservative Senators seeking re-election who have helped us achieve critical priorities for the people of Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “These senators were instrumental in passing the largest property tax cut in Texas history; they supported and passed border security legislation to combat human smuggling and drug trafficking and to create penalties for illegal entry into Texas; they provided historic levels of funding for border security, including billions of dollars to continue to build the Texas border wall; and they supported parental empowerment by giving parents more rights in their child’s education and removing inappropriate books from school libraries. I commend the Texas Senate for passing school choice legislation four times this year, and thank each of these senators for voting in support of that legislation. These six Senators are strong conservatives and proven fighters for their districts, and I encourage Texans to join me in supporting them for re-election so we can pass school choice for all Texas families once and for all.

I also want to thank Lieutenant Governor Patrick for his strong leadership on these issues, and Senators Birdwell, Creighton, Flores, Hall, Hancock, Hughes, Kolkhorst, Middleton, Perry, Schwertner, Sparks, and Springer for their hard work on these critical accomplishments to ensure a safer, brighter, and more prosperous Texas of tomorrow.”
