Governor Greg Abbott today commended the tremendous support from Republican women to help carry critical legislation across the finish line during the 88th Regular Legislative Session and Special Sessions at the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW) Convention Awards Lunch in Irving.

“The backbone of every Texas Republican campaign is the TFRW,” said Governor Abbott. “The work that you all do every election ensures that Texas is the successful Republican-led state that it is today. Your voice also matters in Austin. It was critical in helping pass the Save Women’s Sports Act this year to keep biological men out of women’s sports. We are also closer to getting a deal done on school choice than we ever have been before.  We are making incredible progress, but your legislators need to hear from you. Working together, we will get this deal across the finish line.”

Addressing more than 750 supporters, Governor Abbott thanked members of TFRW for their key role in securing victories that keep Texas the land of freedom and opportunity, noting their vital role in Republican campaigns and initiatives across the state. The Governor also highlighted the significance of TFRW members’ activism in Austin, pointing to the importance of their support to secure major legislative victories this year. Additionally, Governor Abbott detailed his work to pass education freedom for all Texas students during the current special session and urged TFRW members—and all Texans—to contact their legislators to voice their support for school choice.
