AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today endorsed former Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne for the United States House of Representatives. Under Van Duyne’s mayoral leadership, the city of Irving successfully passed a tax cut and added more than 40,000 jobs to the community. Van Duyne’s leadership was also pivotal in the passage of the city’s first ethics policy.
“As a member of Congress, Beth Van Duyne will fight for the values that matter most to Texans in the 24th District,” said Governor Abbott. “Her exemplary record as Mayor of Irving and commitment to conservative values make her the ideal candidate to represent the people of North Texas. I am proud to endorse Beth for the U.S. House of Representatives, and urge the people of District 24 to vote for her in November.”
